01 Start here

A budget that follows your paychecks.

Most budgets split the month into categories. Real life splits it into paydays. Stax Budget plans each bill against the paycheck that has to cover it.

The problem

The month looks fine. The 15th doesn’t.

Rent, the car payment and the phone bill all land before the next paycheck. A monthly total hides the squeeze until it’s already happened.

  • Bills tracked in your head or on a sticky note
  • “Paid” doesn’t mean the money has left yet
  • No clear answer to “how short am I?”
The idea

Every bill has a paycheck.

Put each bill in the pay period that pays it. Stax Budget compares that paycheck’s income with that paycheck’s bills and shows what’s available, or what’s missing.

  • Coverage for each paycheck and the whole month
  • Paid and cleared tracked separately
  • Shortfalls turned into hours of work
1
Add your income

Fixed pay, hourly pay, or a one-time amount. Switch any entry on or off.

2
Add your bills

Estimate, due date, category and account, placed in the paycheck that covers it.

3
Pay, then clear

Swipe to record a payment. Mark it cleared when it leaves your account.

01Paycheck by paycheck

See each pay period on its own, or the whole month together.

02Paid is not cleared

Know what must stay in each account until every payment lands.

03Short? In hours.

A shortfall becomes “3.5 hrs at $22.50/hr”, not just a red number.

Numbers

The answer first: covered or short.

The Numbers tab leads with one figure: available after bills, or make-up needed. Below it: total to pay, already paid, still needs paid, and waiting to clear, for a single paycheck or the whole month.

  • Coverage ring and make-up hours
  • Include or leave out any income
  • An empty month starts with “Add your income”

? FAQ

Good questions.

It is built around your paychecks. Each bill belongs to the pay period that covers it, so you see whether this paycheck covers its bills, how much is still going out, and how many extra hours would close the gap.

No. There is no bank login, no Plaid, and no transaction import. You record what you pay, and the account names you use are just labels. Your bank credentials never touch Stax Budget.

Paid means you sent the money. Cleared means it has left your account. Stax Budget tracks them separately, so you always know how much must stay in each account until everything clears.

Yes. Invite someone by email as an editor or a viewer. Each person signs in with their own account. If you remove someone, the budget gets a new key and is re-encrypted, so new changes are locked to the people who remain.

No. Bills, amounts, income, categories and budget names are encrypted on your device before they sync. The server stores encrypted records and never receives your password or recovery phrase.
